Piece of Advice for First Year Students:

Many incoming students struggle to decide how to get involved around campus. It can be overwhelming to choose with the amount of organizations available. My biggest suggestion is to choose 3 organizations to get involved in. First, an organization that is associated with your major or something that you are interested in career-wise. Second, an organization that is associated with campus as a whole. This gives you the opportunity to meet wonderful, diverse students from all parts of campus (i.e. Ambassadors, Student Government, Tour Guides, philanthropy, etc.). Finally, an organization that is more socially focused and allows you to surround yourself with people that you enjoy spending your free time with (i.e. fraternities, sororities, religious organizations, club sports, etc.).
